Ratri Notosudirdjo (b. 1994, Jakarta) is an Indonesian performance artist, storyteller, and researcher based in Rotterdam. Her work moves fluidly between dreams and reality, shaping a queer and diasporic language of storytelling that resists categorization. Through collaborative processes, she creates spaces where bodies, sounds, sculptures, and shadows come together to form new mythologies—spaces that reveal the unseen and honor the in-between.

Rooted in the complexities of belonging and memory, Notosudirdjo’s practice is a dynamic interplay between the personal and the collective, the ancestral and the contemporary. She draws on surrealism and magic realism to challenge conventional narratives and preserve lesser-known stories. Her recent exploration into sculpture and modular design expands her craft, allowing her to construct adaptable, shifting structures that transform with each performance, embodying a fluid, ever-evolving narrative.

In works like teeth n’ wings and Thức Tỉnh, she engages with myth-making and folklore as acts of resistance, exploring how we remember, forget, and reimagine our worlds. Each performance becomes a shared experience that invites reflection on the hidden forces shaping our histories and futures.
