Gentle Monster
2019


This piece is a study of archetypal constructions and existing dualities. The semi-fictional setting is activated through a performative piece titled “Gentle Monster”. It examines dualism in behaviour and is explored through different lighting: Shadowy and dark as a contained space for vulnerability, childishness and selfishness. In contrast, spotlights are contained space for safeguarding, agreeability and hospitality. The first experiment of the script was filmed in Seoul, Korea at the Korean National University of Art. The forest and foreground of noise/speech play into the lucid themes of the text.

Tributary

In Tributary, three performers re-create the bank of a river. Audience members meander through it, passing phases to find new meanings in the mud.
